Travel Photo Scrapbooking

So you love to travel and you have tons of travel photos stored in your closet to show for it. But what good are they doing stacked up and put away in the dark corners of your closet? Why not scan them onto a disk and get those creative juices flowing? Are you thinking about creating digital photo albums with your travel pictures? The many options available on online Web sites make the art of designing a scrapbook much more convenient, cheap, and a lot less messy than the traditional way of cut and paste. Furthermore, you can preserve and share them forever!

There are many free digital photo album sites and software that offers a wide range of layout ideas that are great for many beginners and seasoned enthusiasts. Some allow you to download the software and keep it on your desktop, too. Either way, once a layout idea is in place, digital scrapbooking can be so easy. There are many tools and accessories that can take your creativity to new heights. You can even select a layout design, implement it, and then if it is not what you thought it to be … with a click of the mouse you can change it to another design. Visit different sites and you will find a variety of layouts, designs, and styles that can be easily tried out to find your favorites.

Once completed, you have an online digital photo album ready to be shared with his friends and family over the internet. Many sites even offer an option to order your photos printed in a beautifully bound book. What a travel gift for family and friends that could be … much better than a T-shirt, don’t you think? Or is it? Some sites offer to put your digital pictures on a T-shirt or other gift items. Ha! Ha!

If you have never created an online travel scrapbook, here are some tips and ideas to get you started.

1. If you do not normally keep a journal or diary when you travel, start keeping one! Then instead of having only a travel scrapbook full of photos to show friends and family, you now can have journal entries that corresponds with the picture that give details and stories from that particular day. Try to tell a story from start to finish.

2. When you decide to create your travel scrapbook, make sure you also include photos of packing or leaving for the trip and returning home. Gather any photos others might have taken at the airport, etc. This will enhance your scrapbook by including these, and will trigger your memory about other fun things you did on your trip.

3. As for the photos you take when traveling, it is so easy to take up a whole memory card full of the monuments and places that you visit. However, do not forget to get some pictures of people, including you and your family, as well. If you are one of those who don’t like to be in the pictures, why not bring along a special toy or small stuffed animal on your trips and pose him in different places throughout your trip?

4. If you have pictures from past travels, why not sit down with your spouse or friend and go through the pictures and write down any memories you have for those pictures. Years from now, you will be glad you did. A family album is one of the most cherished possessions of many people and it is sure to bring a smile to your face whenever you view your digital photo travel album.
